Varieties
Gazanias are generally divided into two types – clopping or mounding , and trailing , decumbent or lustrelessness - forming .
Clumping varieties form mound and have lobed farewell of a fertile , medium greenish hue whereas recumbent varieties put out drop behind stems and diffuse along the background , and show lance - shaped foliage of a delightfully appealing bluish - greyish chalky leafy vegetable .

Gazanias are very consistent in their sizes – most miscellanea of both kinds ( i.e. clop and tracking ) accomplish a top and scatter of between 20 - 30 centimetre .
Some of my favourite varieties are presented underneath :
1)G. linearis
One of the more abundant species that has circularize from its native Southern Africa and become naturalise to diverse regions such as Australia and Canada .
It is of a decumbent type and has the leafage typical of such varieties .
It produce affect aureate - yellow flowers that are subtly gradate and display a slenderly darker zona at the inwardness .

2)G. rigens
A mintage that is parent to several diversity .
This clumping character attains heights of only 20 - 30 cm .
It has a particularly long flower season , producing flowers from before summer until autumn .

The flower are a superb sunny yellow with each petal display a ‘ looker smudge ’ at the proximal end .
3)G.‘Chansonette’
A spreading potpourri that has dark , deep green leaf .
It is mark for produce blooms from mid - fountain .
The flowers are 10 cm across and are in pure tone of yellow through red with a central glowering zone .

‘ Chansonette ’ stands out because of the caliber and chromaticity of its pinkish , yellow , orangish and scarlet flowers .
4)G.‘Tiger Stripes’
A very pop variety on both sides of the Atlantic .
It is of the clumping type and has leafage of a racy and deep green colour .
The large flowers are of a smart white-livered colour with a thick rust - orange tree stripe on each petal .

This motley flower profusely throughout the summertime .
5)G.‘Aztec’
Has a trailing and spreading habit with that ‘ laid back ’ leaf distinctive of this type .
The 7 centimetre flowers are gorgeous , display a marvellous colour combining .
The fundamental disk is yellow and the petal are a creamy pink , with a gradated maroon stripe .

A brilliant selection for groundcover and receiver of the RHS Award of Garden Merit .
6)G.‘New Day Rose Stripe’
Of the clumping type and grows to 20 - 25 centimeter .
It blooms from late spring to other autumn , grow large peak .
They are brilliantly coloured , featuring a deep xanthous disk and acutely gradated rose band on off - white petals .

A majuscule pick for walk borders .
7)G.‘Cookei’
Of the decumbent type and its 7 atomic number 96 flowers do not have a peculiarly prospicient blooming season .
Yet this variety has possibly the most absorbing blooms .
They have a red and sensationalistic spike , with the rays display a marked olive - unripe central geographical zone and make a hoary , fervent orangeness people of colour .

Probably the top choice among Gazanias for a specimen works .
This variety has received the RHS Award of Garden Merit .
8)G.‘Tiger Eye’
A cultivar ofG. rigens , this is a clumping type with strange and attractive cream - rimmed leaves .
The petals are of a tawny orange colour , lightly gradate or flush , each with a prominent black ‘ eye ’ at its base .
This one ’s another heavy filling for walkway borders .

9)G.‘Big Kiss Yellow Flame’
Reaches 20 - 30 cm but that is not the ground for the ‘ big ’ in its name .
It does not have a very farseeing blooming season as it lasts from mid - bounce to mid - summertime .
What ’s really striking about it is the size of the flowers ( or flowerheads ) which are fully 12 atomic number 96 across .

The capitulum is yellow call up with brown , and the shaft of light are golden yellow with a gradated maroon - red bar .
10)G.‘Big Kiss White Flame’
standardised to the salmagundi named above except that it feature an even more dramatic prime , this so because of the color .
The rays have the light sort of creamy off - white base on which be given brilliant bar of gradated rose red .
It is a majuscule option for motley beds .

11)G.‘Talent Series’
Are of the spreading type that rise to only about 25 cm and have that ‘ cool ’ , muted bluish - grey foliation .

For all these attributes this is the Gazania variety that is the good bet for rock-and-roll garden .
