Varieties

Gazanias are generally divided into two types – clopping or mounding , and trailing , decumbent or lustrelessness - forming .

Clumping varieties form mound and have lobed farewell of a fertile , medium greenish hue whereas recumbent varieties put out drop behind stems and diffuse along the background , and show lance - shaped foliage of a delightfully appealing bluish - greyish chalky leafy vegetable .

1)G. linearis

A spreading potpourri that has dark , deep green leaf .

It is mark for produce blooms from mid - fountain .

The flowers are 10 cm across and are in pure tone of yellow through red with a central glowering zone .

‘ Chansonette ’ stands out because of the caliber and chromaticity of its pinkish , yellow , orangish and scarlet flowers .

4)G.‘Tiger Stripes’

A very pop variety on both sides of the Atlantic .

It is of the clumping type and has leafage of a racy and deep green colour .

The large flowers are of a smart white-livered colour with a thick rust - orange tree stripe on each petal .

This motley flower profusely throughout the summertime .

5)G.‘Aztec’

Has a trailing and spreading habit with that ‘ laid back ’ leaf distinctive of this type .

The 7 centimetre flowers are gorgeous , display a marvellous colour combining .

The fundamental disk is yellow and the petal are a creamy pink , with a gradated maroon stripe .

6)G.‘New Day Rose Stripe’

Of the clumping type and grows to 20 - 25 centimeter .

It blooms from late spring to other autumn , grow large peak .

They are brilliantly coloured , featuring a deep xanthous disk and acutely gradated rose band on off - white petals .

7)G.‘Cookei’

The petals are of a tawny orange colour , lightly gradate or flush , each with a prominent black ‘ eye ’ at its base .

This one ’s another heavy filling for walkway borders .

9)G.‘Big Kiss Yellow Flame’

Reaches 20 - 30 cm but that is not the ground for the ‘ big ’ in its name .

It does not have a very farseeing blooming season as it lasts from mid - bounce to mid - summertime .

What ’s really striking about it is the size of the flowers ( or flowerheads ) which are fully 12 atomic number 96 across .

For all these attributes this is the Gazania variety that is the good bet for rock-and-roll garden .

This is yet another recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit .
