I have never experience so many emails than I have about my last post where I confess that I have a case of ‘ gutter snobbism ’ . My purpose was not to wee off anyone , I encourage anyone to practice originative gardening , and although there are rules in gardening , like cookery , rules can be broken – so go for it . But I would care to remind you that my blog is a personal speculation which center not on mutual drill , repose or about unretentive - cut . My blog has to honest , and unquestionable – and I let ’s face it – Joe and I are not about coarse horticulture ! We ’re kind - of experienced , both of us are nearly life - long gardener and plant gatherer , and to anyone who has visited us – our gardens and greenhouse barely represents the fair gardener ! I am beyond being a geek with many case of plants , from vegetable culture to bulbs and strong suit garden . I render to make this blog to be more interesting , more instructive , to partake not only experience and knowledge , but also to inspire both young and mature Gardners to try somethings newfangled , to rehear something that they may have failed at with before .
With gardening , you could choose to be casual , or serious – it ’s up to you . There are hatful of very nice blogs out there about which document young gardeners as they determine , try , and sometimes even fail with their garden . All essential in growing as a gardener , but my web log is not really about that .
Today , we live in a heavy - collation culture . And that ’s okay , but for some of you , it ’s just not enough selective information for me , or for my reader – that ’s just he spot I take with this web log . Sure – other web log might just tell you that poppies are huge this year , or they may show you how to use poppy in your nuptials bouquet , but I know that many of you are running out there buying poppy semen , but a small disordered on where to grow on how to grow them . Once steamer , we kids would have to deform them through sieve forced through with mallets ( no food processor ) , we then would used tinned Milk River ( cheat ) and a recipe that my mummy had from her mother . The pastry crust – from scrape too .
