Today ’s photos are from Beverly Smith , who says,“I live in a wooded expanse of Cos Cob , Connecticut , and have deer everywhere . We do not have a deer fence so I have , over the years , installed 90 varieties of plants that deer do not care .

We live on two acres with stone ledges that I have incorporated into my landscaping .   I do all of the labor myself . I con about gardening from my grandma and female parent . I am a bit selfish about my garden and do not like assistance from others for installing and maintain it . I think it my canvass on which I do my artistry work . I design it , instal it over the time period of 14 years , and asseverate it . I installed a patio and focal points . My married man made the benches and Mondrian - style fences to inclose one garden way .

I am a instructor , and summertime are for horticulture . My kinfolk call off me an obsessional gardener . Some people encounter golf game or tennis , or join ladies ’ clubs , but I proudly garden – transplantation in the spring , even move big shrub and small tree diagram myself .

Some folks wonder why I work so hard on a garden that is not in a neck of the woods and not visible to many people . I stroll the garden many evenings with a glass of wine and admire what nature has set aside me to shape in my own front 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre . Each day I get to stand back and admire my personal garden canvass ! One peeress group came for a garden saunter and love my garden . Their garden ball club will be inviting me to talk next other summertime when the garden it at its best .

I take my horticulture both seriously and with humor . of late when I was work in the garden , My daughter , Jani , play me my lunch . I take off a baseball mitt so I could obligate the goober butter and jelly sandwich without get too much dirt on it ( last photo . ) ”

Beverly , you walk the talking . I perfectly LOVE the photograph of you taking a break from gardening to corrode your tiffin . Bravo for sharing it . And your garden is lovely , too !
