A pumpkin crown with succulent cuttings from the garden

The variety oftexturesand colors ofsucculentleaves makes a beautiful arrangement .
A driedhydrangeaflowerhead sum to the show .
I tried something different this year . Some of these pumpkins are topped with mixed freak , pine cone , silver belleucalyptus , andstrawflowers . Those that have succulent require weekly watering , but those that do n’t need even less alimony .

White strawflowers(Bracteantha bracteata , Zones 10–11 or as an one-year ) are from the summer garden . glad Thanksgiving to all !
This season brought a lot of Turk ’s turbansquashto the nursery . These are brightly colour , attractive gourd measuring up to 10 inches ( 24 centimeter ) across . They are excellent for bake and stuffing but are also stunning infall displaysas decorative gourds , so I made a whole circumstances of what I have dubbed “ fairy crown ” pumpkins . This very former potpourri has been in culture since before the 1800s . Unlike the classic succulent - topped pumpkins , these are adorn from the bottom side to show their interesting physique and colors .
It ’s been quite fun creating them , and even more fun giving them away . succulent are from the garden .

This is a pumpkin vine tulipiere . I meet the project on Martha Stewart and thought I ’d try it this season fall in all the gorgeous pumpkin . The flowers andberriesare all from the garden .
I wanted to make the version airier like a tulipiere , so I change it to singulardahliastems . My household tell it was is too spindly , though , so I cut the blossom shorter to make this version and addedbeautyberriesfrom the garden again .
Here ’s a process shot that render the drilled holes for the dahlia stems to go in .
