Creating a New Garden Grown Around Roses – Part 1

Back when I lived in Los Angeles and ran a rose garden care party , I did some design of what I called “ gardens grown around rose ” . I always incur it to be fun and enjoyed challenging myself to find interesting new ways to integrate roses into a landscape . When I proceed to South Carolina and started my former rose nursery I stopped due to sentence constraints . late I was approached to help with a garden from scar because the homeowner make love roses . This project is just underway but I ’m buy the farm to blog about it sporadically because I hope you will not only learn some things but because it will also animate you to assay some different thing with roses !

The space is on a hillside and has several unlike area . Some will be slightly formal and some casual and the terrain , light conditions and need of the space will prescribe that . Albertine , like Francois , is a range rose . To carry the bloom forrader I ’m going to layer two other repetition flowering roses and a clematis into it . The first rose is Climbing Belinda ’s Dream .

Belinda will grow 12’-15 ’ and bloom all time of year . The other prove we are going to layer in is the David Austin Rose Gentle Hermione . It will grow to around 5 ’ and cross the foundation of the other two climbers . Why two more roses ?

The last two roses bloom all season . While Albertine is bloom all three will flower at once giving an amazing spring show . The repeat flowering roses will carry that through the respite of the time of year against the foliage of Albertine .

Besides being layered into Albertine on the sharpness of the rampart , Belinda and Gentle Hermione will be planted between each apple tree diagram and sent flat up . This will frame in not only the wall in pink wine but each apple tree as well .

So why not just use only repeat flowering rose ? Because nothing , and I entail nothing , will ever reduplicate a outpouring flowering rambling rise in full blush . It ’s a show stopper . Using other repeat flowering roses in concord with it give that full spring show and an prolonged rosiness season . To add pin interest to the wall in addition to the two repeat anthesis roses , I ’m going to layer in purple fall blooming clematis . The whole bulwark will be underplanted with lavender under the orchard apple tree trees and the Polyantha go up Marie Pavie between the apple trees . This iterate practice will give a casual restraint to the area while still retain the formality the infinite calls for .

As you may this does not involve a lot of plants but by thinking it through and combining different kinds of rose wine we can create something beautiful all time of year long .
