What changed my mind about death?

I had a friend who had blow over away at a untried age . Like me , he was also a young farmer and loved farm sprightliness . But , he also understood death from raising dairy cattle and sheep . The subject of his funeral was the R-2 of life . The celebration of the end of his life . Because life does come to an end . It ’s a natural part of being on this globe . His funeral was difficult since he was so young . But , the message was ingrain into me even to this Clarence Day .

To Everything There Is A Season

The classic songTurn turn over Turn ( To Everything There is a Season ) by The Byrdsis what I think about now when I call up of decease   in general . The Byrds aim the lyric for their song from the Book of   Ecclesiastes in the Bible :

To every affair there is a season , and a time to every function under the paradise : A time to be born , and a time to die ; a time to plant , a time to draw that which is planted;A time to drink down , and a sentence to bring around ; a time to break down , and a metre to build up up;A time to cry , and a time to laugh ; a time to mourn , and a time to dance;A time to mold away stones , and a prison term to assemble stones together;A time to embrace , and a time to refrain from embracing;A metre to get , and a time to miss ; a time to keep , and a time to cast away;A metre to rend , and a clock time to sew ; a time to keep silence , and a time to speak;A clock time to love , and a meter to hate ; a time of war , and a time of peacefulness .

This is the circle of lifetime explained short and sweet . Thanks to this experience and understanding , I find comfy teaching my daughter about last on the farmstead when she asks me unmanageable question .

death on the farm

I want my daughter to learn about death

My daughters have been exposed to death on our farmstead . The have see usharvest   chickensfor meat and have become a part of the harvest home . They have go through a baby goat kid or lamb laying dead in the niche of the shed . My girls have avail me deal an animal for a workweek , only to watch our hard work turn to demise in a matter of hour . My older girl Mylee has depict the natural lamentation emotion we all have about death of a roll in the hay one or animal . And , of course , she has lots of questions to be answer .

What I want to teach my child about death

I want her to understand destruction as being natural . Just as life is a charming miracle , death is the natural end to life on ground . Most importantly , I need her to understand the dead do not get back to life story . She and other young children need to understand the circle of life . Why   we dwell and why   we buy the farm .

Where do we go when we die?

When expiry happens , our spirit entrust the trunk . The body last out on earth . The disembodied spirit buy the farm to another home . A better place . Called heaven . I severalize her it ’s a wonderful position where animals can melt and play all day long . As Christians , this is what we are taught to think . Heaven is a better place to live eternal life .

Why do we die?

We die because our time on earth has terminate . I recite my daughter we are only on this terra firma for a short time . Nothing lives constantly . We’re on this earth because God has a purpose for us to achieve . After we have gained that use and succeeder in life , it ’s time for us to leave life for a better place . It ’s our destiny to fulfill our life on earthly concern and be rewarded with eternal life in heaven .

What I will Never teach my child about death

I will never give my child the rill around about death . As a part of the farmstead , she is just as much exposed to thing as we are . I will never say her a stagnant animal is “ just kip ” . She will think it will wake up . She deserves to know the trueness as much as anyone . It ’s my responsibility as her parent   to give her a mature lesson about the last of spirit .
