The Fear of The Unfamiliar
Ofttimes when something you ’re doing is unfamiliar , your friends and family and even complete strangers will say you it ’s “ incorrect . ”

Most people can not grasp the idea that the mainstream is n’t correct . They ’ll complain about the regime and say the media is dwell , but it ’s just lyric . Their action disclose that they are still afraid of being on the outs because when a new ( often manufacture ) crisis arises , they ’ll shine mightily in lineage with the narration and call objector “ unpatriotic ” or “ dangerous ” or “ conspiracy theorists , ” etc .

Some of my horticulture methods were quite foreign to my neighbour in Grenada and they followed what I was doing with both interest and criticism . I had plants they ’d never visualise before and was able to share cutting and seeded player . A few take them and experimented , most did not . The single that did , though , were no longer in the big silvern schooling . I learned a spate from some of them , too , so it was a two - way street .
My friend Mike was always experimenting and ascertain . He was a great mentor .
Much of what Mike tell apart me was not familiar or mainstream , in either American or Grenadian agriculture – yet he produce the finest , comfortably - shaped yams I have ever seen and his cabbages , Brassica oleracea italica and dough were unbelievable .

Show, Don’t Tell
When I was in the Master Gardener program years ago , my ideas and testimonial were not drive specially gravely . Now , however , as my influence has grown , I am getting asked to derive and speak at Master Gardener upshot , and my books are being share .
