Beautiful colors along the Skagit River

Today ’s photos are from Lori Ann Fowler in Newhalem , Washington .

I am certain you have tons of fall photo with awe-inspiring color , but I had to divvy up these with you .

I was walking home last nighttime from the greenhouse and snap these pellet as the sunlight peaked through the cloud .

These trees were found with farsightedness of the impact the contrast colors would have with the surround granite gorge walls , tight - running Skagit River , and the concrete powerhouse ( below ) .

This is the historic Gorge Powerhouse retrace in the early 1920s to produce electrical energy for Seattle as part of the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project .

The Seattle City Light townspeople of Newhalem was born from this project for employees who last in the distant Cascades .

Newhalem is the gateway to theNorth Cascade National Park , and as travelers pass through the Skagit Hydroelectric Project composite , they move into a fall wonderland that blend as they climb into wintertime loftiness of the American Alps . It is a privilege to live near , work in , and steward these historical gardens .
