Garner ’s mom appear on her “ Pretend Cooking Show ” to give a tutorial on this delicious creamed edible corn mantrap .

We ’re about to reachpeak edible corn season : you could crispen it up on the grill , roil it on the stove , toss it into your salads . Or , if you ’re likeJennifer Garner , you may make this creamed corn formula she say she ate throughout puerility and “ tastes like summer . " Like so many of the tastiest recipes , it was fall down from her mommy , who got it from a friend who lived down the street from her .

InGarner ’s Instagram telecasting , part of a series she call Pretend Cooking Show , her mammy starts by rinsing the edible corn andcutting the kernelsoff of the hazelnut . Her technique is a morsel dangerous , causing Garner to say , nervously , “ mommy ? Mom ? You ’re not supposed to skip towards yourself . ”

“ Well , you cut it then , ” her mom replies . ( Celebrities , they ’re just like us ! ) “ I do n’t experience how to abbreviate other than towards myself . ”

Garner ’s mom mentions you do n’t want to sheer too profoundly — or else , just cut the tops of the centre off . She then practice a tongue to scrape the sleep of the edible corn into the trough to insure it ’s “ tender and creamy . ”

“ We call this corn Grandmom Corn at my house , ” Garner says as she scrapes bits of corn into a bowl . “ My kids request it , and we make it all the fourth dimension . ”

Once the cobnut are all cleared out , Garner and her momma toss them into the thousand for scavengers to have something to nosh on , and “ The gruelling part is done . ” The duo loads up the eight ears of clavus into a pan and contribute about 3/4 cup of pee , 1/4 cup of butter , 2 tablespoonful of sugar , and ( a good amount of ) saltiness and pepper to taste . In a freestanding bowlful , they combine 1/2 cup of milk and 2 tablespoon of flour , which they toss into the pan to thicken up the mixture .

“ My sisters and I grew up on this corn , ittastes like summer , ” Garner wrote on the legend of the post . “ I make mine without sugar and it seems to go down just fine , although of course of study my kids prefer when it is made by the queen herself . We love Grandmom . Leftovers are great in tomorrow ’s salsa ! ”
