A colorful garden made with hard work and love
Today we ’re visiting Joyce Hannaford ’s garden in Natick , Massachusetts .
I have been gardening in this space for 21 yr , but over my life , a aggregate of 67 year . I ’ve been in the garden 50 to 60 hours a workweek , weather permitting .
This is a side planting container withSalvia‘Black and Blue ’ ( Zones 7–10 or as annual ) grow at the top , pinkpentas(annual ) in the middle intermixture with pinkDipladenia(akaMandevilla , Zones 9–11 or as annual ) , a yellowed banding ofbidens(annual ) , and at the bottom , drop behind silver - leavedDicondra‘Silver Falls ’ ( Zones 8–10 or as an annual ) , purpleScaevola(annual ) .

This is our favorite shoes to sit in the garden . We built our fire Inferno five years ago .
The water feature of speech was build for this place . Pink - flowered ‘ Vista Bubblegum’petunias(annual ) bloom over the stump of two ‘ inheritance ’ birch rod trees(Betula nigra‘Heritage ’ Zones 4–9 ) . The trees outgrow the space after 18 geezerhood .
