First , a heads up – I have so many great spring submissions right now , so you might be see spring garden for a while here , even as we move into summer … case in decimal point : today ’s garden . These photos are from Terie Rawn in upstate New York , and they were all taken in May . We ’ve seen Terie ’s garden lashings of time before , and it ’s one of our sheer faves .
Today she says,“In the calendar month of May you will find me singing along with the songbirds . All of our gardens bring an authoritative part in the survival of these upbeat feather Quaker . Above me , as I work in the forest , an oriole sings to proclaim it ’s territory . Hummingbirds have discovered fuchsia hang from the porch and planted in the windowpane box . Prunella modularis scrape the ground for insects and robin lookup for worms . Deep in the woods the wood thrush , ovenbird , and warblers call to one another . Many of the woodland groundcover flower in the spring , creating a carpet of easygoing blue , lavender and garden pink . before long afterward the taller perennials tower among them , showing off their large leafage texture . annual will soon be pot and placed to give continual color throughout the garden , porch and pack of cards .
“ The outdoors comes to life as foliage strive upwards . Nearly 24 years of horticulture here in primal New York have instruct us to sit often and bask the solvent of countless hours of project . There is still much to do … we just are n’t as belligerent as in years past . Please make out for a spring perambulation with me along the way of life that lead through our backyard . ”
