Single photos worth sharing
At the GPOD , we like to have between five and ten photos for each post . But sometimes people just send in one or two picture that are great , and I hate to not be able to partake in them . So today is going to be a roundup of a few great photos from gardeners .
From Carol Ledeboer , the blooms of a regal geranium . royal geraniums are in the genusPelargonium , like the more conversant zonal geranium , and similarly are usually grown as annuals . They have tremendous , often elaborately colorise and patterned flowers . As a ruler , they are less tolerant of hot summers than the normal zonary geraniums , but if you have moderate summer temperatures , they can be absolutely breathtaking .
Nikola Tirado sent in this magnificentmagnolia(Magnoliagrandiflora , Zones 6–10 ) .

From Nanci R. Natale : I survive in Darien , Connecticut , and I garden in various forms ( garden , containers , indoor / outdoor , etc . ) . I always enjoy seeing interesting plant combinations in interesting containers . When I got this iron caldron , I do it it had to have something really beautiful to emphasize the iron . I set off with prosperous creep Jenny(Lysimachianummularia‘Aurea ’ , Zones 3–8 ) , which comes back every class , and then added vivid red geraniums ( no summer is consummate without red geraniums ! ) . To cushion the look I added pinkpetunias , an orange - redimpatiens , and a grass for feathery meridian . An American masthead makes this container ready for all the summer holidays !
From Linda Petersen : We live on a farm in Virginia and love feeding all varieties of shuttlecock . Here’sHummingbirdAlley . Unofficially , it ’s just the pavement from the motorcar park to our front door . There are hummingbird feeder along the room , with an assortment ofphloxand black - eyed Susans growing underneath . I ’m kept busy filling every one of those 30 - ounce feeders each solar day . My husband hung a garden Mr fastening on a hose from a cedar tree arm behind the pavement . The hummers , butterflies , and even thechickensenjoy the water park feature .
Joyce Hochsprung sent us this beautiful geranium . A eccentric of zonal geranium ( Pelargonium ) , this is one of the stellar geraniums , which have masses of laciniate , whizz - shaped flowers . They ’re just as easy to grow as any other geranium , and they impart an unusual look to the garden .

Josephine Duncan in Bellville , Texas , combined silver dusty miller ( Seneciocineraria , Zones 8–10 or as yearly ) and blue agapanthus(Agapanthushybrid , Zones 8–10 ) to bang-up impingement !
Joan Ancel gardens on a skyscraper in New York City . That may vocalise unimaginable , but look at the beautiful ‘ Galloway’roseshe grew !
Thanks to all the gardeners who share their beautiful creations with us on the GPOD , whether it be one photo or a 12 !
