Potting soil company Agaris opened 2 new production tune in its Ghent mill on 8 December . This step-up in production means Agaris is capable to fulfil the increased demand for pot soil from professional and hobby users .
Increased demandMany pursuit gardeners ( re)discovered their garden during the Covid crisis , increasing need in both the professional and hobby segments of the potting ground sector . In plus , Agaris has a cleared growth scheme for the intermediate term .
To prepare Agaris for these challenges , two young production lines were commissioned in the Ghent production social unit on 8 December . These new line will see Agaris increasing its production capacity for bagged potting soil by 20 % . In summation , the packaging lines that were already in post were given an upgrade to increase the automation of the mixing lines . In concrete condition , this mean the bunker that feed the packaging lines are now filled mechanically . The result is less downtime and higher efficiency .
Important footstep towards further growthThese investment are an important footstep for the development of Agaris . “ These new production lines and optimisation activities mean we can increase the production content of our factory in Ghent significantly , ” tell Dirk Poelman , CEO of Agaris . “ This is not only a given to be able to continue supplying our customer in a high - tone manner , it is a necessary if we are to accomplish our increase ambitions . ”
