But so far , so dependable – especially knowing that all of this temporary “ topsy-turvydom ” will soon be replaced by the joy of living at our trivial farm .

The new garage is now up – and the foundation for the “ Simple House ” is thoroughgoing and quick for the detergent builder to begin this week to bring up up the first walls of our home .

The Farm In Photos:

It always amazes me every year how beautiful some of the bloom of youth in our herb garden can be . The Allium schoenoprasum are always one of the first plants the bees will find and work in the garden , and their foresighted gorgeous spiky blooms are easy for the bees to find!“Grandma ’s Flowers ” No , that is not the actual name of these beautiful perennial – but it is the name my entire household has called them from as far back as I can remember . The original start to this blossom came from my Italian Grandmother ’s family in northeast Ohio and was transfer at my parent ’s house . tight forward many age later on , and nigh every one of my siblings has a start in their yard now – and they have found a permanent house at the farm as well . The Chicken Coop with a fresh coat of paint . We built the majority of the coop with reclaimed metal roofing and barn wood , and it remain one of the pet station for visitant to the farm to check out – specially when there are kids mired . Raising our own chickens has been one of the most rewarding and fulfill thing we have done since creating the farm . It also really helps power our garden! The view of the upper pergola – still one of our favourite places to sit down and enjoy the farm . The completed concrete countertops for our barn ’s outdoor kitchen field . We had them poured at the same time the foundation piece of work was being completed – and so happy with how they turned out ! We got to put them to near use for the first clock time yesterday at Wes ’s high schoolhouse commencement ceremony company at the farmThe white potato vine are growing like weeds in our potato crate ! Growing our potato crop vertically was one of the best determination we ever made in our garden – not only saving space , but making the chores of weed and hill obsolete! So far , June has been a great month of weather for all of our hang field goal around the farm . Warm days and fond nights make for a peachy originate season for all of the works at the farm!Enjoying a little rest and liberalization at the firepit . I am certain in the coming week ’s we will be spending many a dark here look up at the procession of the farm house at the top of the James Jerome Hill . The daylillies in full flower on the hillside behind the barn . This full hillside planting was created for free from recurrent cutting and transplants from friends and family .

The house foundation is stream over the beamy heating tubes . It was exciting to see it all begin to come together for the home . The radiant floor heat will not only be a huge savings to heat the house , but incredibly prosperous for Mary to never have cold feet in the winter! The service department is up ! It seemed utterly improbable to us – but the crew from Weaver Barns showed up at 6 am – and had our garage up and completely side 6 hours later . We have been so fortunate to work on with so many great the great unwashed on this task – from Ratai Builders , who turn up the intact website and created all of our founding for the service department and house – to Weaver Barns with all of the particular for the house . With the garage utter in the background . , the fundament for the menage sits quick for the builder this workweek ! This has been an exciting time for both Mary and I – and we both can not look to call the farm our domicile by and by this summer !
