Invites rock gardener and alpine works lover from abroad to join the Club . It has grown steadily and now has around 1000 local and 100 strange member . Many of them keep professional contact with Rock Garden Societies , Clubs , Chapters in U.S.A. , U.K. , Germany , France , Belgium , Canada , Netherlands and other contribution of the world , as well as with many botanical gardens . A lot of our members are experienced growers of alpine plants and skilled seed collector . Our activities concentrate on :
1 . publication of thebulletin “ Skalnicky ” ( i.e. Alpine Plants)with four issues per year , each of about 40 pages with drawings and color photographs .
2.Annual Seed Exchange . In 1999/2000 our Index Seminum ( cum list ) offeredover 1.800 itemsfrom local and foreign bestower .
3.Three showsof alpine constitute includingplant salein the traditional show church garden in Prague .
– TheEarly Spring in March / April – one week , narrow down on plants like Saxifragas , bulbs
– TheMain Spring Show in May – hold up three calendar week , exhibition of more than 1.000 plants .
– TheAutumnShowin August / September , one or two hebdomad , for dwarf conifer , former alpines and other garden plant , Fuchsias , etc .
4 . We also organize shorttrips and visitsto our good stone gardeners in the res publica as well as longerholiday expeditionsto the mountains of Europe and Asia .
5.Study weekend in October , one-year confluence in February .
rank dues are 20 US dollars , plus 5 USD , if the member care to take part in theseed exchange . Most of this amount is used to cover the Index Seminum and the bulletin , including transformation of abstracts , the rest to pays for postage stamp .
