It was deserving every minute to get there . So today , I ’m writing a Charles William Post called , creatively :

Visiting The Fruit and Spice Park

The first thing you ’ll notice when you get to the Fruit and Spice Park is their overnice piffling parking mint and visitant ’s center / gift store . They have a aggregation of botanical prints for sales event , along with playing cards , insects incase in confect and other ridiculous bits and pieces … but the coolest matter about the visitor ’s center entrance is the tray of fresh fruit and toothpicks by the front desk . Those are there for you to try out before you even see the trees . I got to try   jackfruit for the first meter .

Wow . I ca n’t even describe the flavor . It ’s … amazing .

I ’m wholly growing jackfruit when I get a more tropical location . After all , they ’re a band like giant mulberries and I ’m bully at growing those – check ’em out :

After you compensate ( it ’s quite affordable ) , you get a map and pace through the doors into paradise .

There are some chocolate pudding yield trees right near the front . A footling further is a beautiful arbor covered with black white pepper vines by a waterfall and some nifty enceinte starfruit tree .

Something else I need to tell you : all the fruit that falls to the footing is yours for the tasting ! It ’s their policy . My children got to run through all kinds of wonderful fruit they ’d never examine before .

Another entrancing works I saw for the first time was the scalawag pot Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree :

Those small “ monkey locoweed ” open up to reveal comestible fruitcake inside . They ’re like mini Brazil nuts . How cool is that ?

And speaking of nerveless , check out the bloom on this cannonball Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree :

The efflorescence hang in bowed stringed instrument down the side of the tree . It looked incredible . I ’ve interpret aboutthe cannonball treebut this was the first specimen I ’d hear in somebody .

At the yield and spiciness green there are hundreds and hundreds of plants . They have an insane collection of mango assortment ( 186 ) , plus various type of coconuts , sight of tamarind trees , Luffa cylindrica gourds , cocoa , and almost every kind of tropic fruit you may imagine – include some you ca n’t .

The tour is also worth taking . Our guide , Kent , was funny and knowing and share a wad of great info and quirky facts about some of the Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and spiciness in the park .

Another cool matter : after the tour , I was trying to settle where to go next … when a   buff - await guy walks up to me and say “ Florida Survival Gardening ? David ? ”

David_The_Good_And_Mike

Turns out he ’s a steady reader who have all my books . He was there with a pretty peeress Quaker and we all ended up babble out for quite a routine .

Mike – it was expectant meeting you . Thanks for stopping to say hi . Drop me an e - mail at some point .

I also regain out that Mike does n’t commonly have rosy-cheeked red cheeks . I think his gallon hit him up with someBixawarpaint at some point during their sojourn .

Ad-for-Grow-Or-Die

Thanks to this web site , I ’ve made friends all over the place . It ’s cool getting recognized in world . ( I once cease up answering horticulture questions at an organic market after getting recognized while standing in contrast – that was funny ) . nurseryman and plant people are some of the most terrific folks on the face of the world .

I highly recommend call in The Fruit and Spice Park if you get a hazard . I got a chance to record a lump of out trip on video – check it out :
